The 3rd Annual Hudson Valley Irish Fest will held on Saturday, September 24, rain or shine, at the Peekskill Riverfront Green Park on the banks of the Hudson River.
This year the Fest will be a salute to fire, police, rescue workers and U.S. armed forces and is dedicated on the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 to the memory of the 9/11 fallen.
The tribute will begin with a wreath-laying at the adjacent Sam Oitice Heroes Remembered Memorial, this at the start of the Fest, and will continue later in the day with The Pipes & Drums of the Police Emerald Society of Westchester County leading Massed Pipe Bands and Tim Murphy, "the Bard of the Hudson" performing his song, "The Firefighters Creed."
All proceeds of the Hudson Valley Irish Irish Fest support charitable and educational work and the recently established Hudson Valley Irish Center in the Red School House at 210 6th St., Verplanck.
