DUBLIN gained some consolation for the defeat of their senior team by defeating Kilkenny by 1-14 to 1-11 to win the Leinster Minor Hurling Championship final at Croke Park.
In doing so, they denied Kilkenny a fourth successive Leinster title. The victory was well deserved with Dublin in control for most of the contest.
Tipperary, meanwhile, made it a bad day for Cork when they recorded a surprise 3-11 to 1-9 victory over them in the Munster Football Championship Minor final. They turned in an outstanding second half-display to capture their first minor title in 16 years. The sides were level on 1-7 apiece at halftime before Greg Henry got a decisive goal for Tipperary early in the second period. -- Kieran Rooney
