Sean Coffey, the Bronx-born son of a Cork mother and Kerry father, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and Georgetown Law. In 26 years of active and reserve service, Sean flew missions tracking Soviet submarines, served as military assistant to VP George Bush, commanded a squadron and was promoted to Captain. Sean attended Georgetown Law at night while serving in Washington, and returned to New York to practice law and serve as a federal prosecutor in Manhattan, prosecuting firearms, narcotics, and other major crimes.
Back in private practice, Sean recently recovered over $10 billion for defrauded investors, including $6 billion in the landmark WorldCom case. He is now seeking the Democratic nomination for New York Attorney General. Sean travels to Ireland frequently, and as a youngster spent seven full summers in West Cork working on the farm where his mother was raised.
