O'Neill is the founder/president of Children of Promise Stable, (the COPS Barn), former Stony Point Town Councilman, past Rockland County PBA President, security director for NYPD Detective Steven McDonald's missions for peace to Ireland, 2007 Rockland County A.O.H. Hibernian of the Year, 2007 Rockland Police Chief's Violent Crime Investigative Award, 2005 Leadership Rockland Leader of the Year, 1998 Parade Commander Rockland St. Patrick's Day Parade.
O'Neill is married to Patty Reilly O'Neill,. They have one daughter, Meghan, who is a graduate of Notre Dame Law School. O'Neill's grandparents are from Counties Cork and Kerry.
