A Dublin native and prosecutor with the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office since 1998. Currently assigned to the Narcotic Bureau, he has successfully prosecuted drug dealers through complex wiretap investigations and trials. A member of the Brehon Society and Ancient Order of Hibernians, and the Police Association of Suffolk County, Heffernan plays rugby for the Suffolk Bullmoose RFC. He received his BA in History (1990) from St. John Fisher College in Rochester and JD (1996) from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delware. Heffernan has also studied law at Trinity College, Dublin. He resides with his wife Anne and sons Conor and Declan in Suffolk County.
