Throwback Thursday

Thomas Barr was following in the strides of Bob Tisdall when he ran in today’s Olympic 400 meter hurdles final in Rio. Tisdall won gold for Ireland in the 1932 Los Angeles games in a then world record time of 51.7 seconds. Barr ran 47.97 today but that was only enough to secure the most frustrating place in an Olympic final: fourth.
