Up, up and away….slowly

Eighty years ago this week, Aer Lingus inaugurated its first ever air route from Dublin to Bristol in England. A De Havilland Dragon named “Iolar” (Irish for Eagle) carried five passengers on that maiden flight. The DH.84 Dragon pictured here is painted in original Aer Lingus livery.
