BOSTON --- The sale of a "Whitey" Bulger Halloween costumes in stores around Massachusetts is drawing the ire of some of the families of Bulger's alleged victims.

Steve Davis, whose sister was allegedly strangled to death by the currently incarcerated Irish-American mobster, is not laughing.

He told reporters that anyone who would wear such a costume must be a "sick" individual with no regard for what the victims' families are going through.

A spokesman for one of the stores selling the costume, iParty, has defended the sale of the costume, saying that villains and evil characters are in abundance during the holiday of tricks and treats.

The iParty spokesman said that Bulger is the "villain of choice" for many of the store's Halloween customers this year. The costume sells for $39.99 and replicates the jumpsuit that Bulger has worn into federal court for his recent appearances.

Bulger is in federal custody facing a slew of charges after being arrested earlier this year in California. The Boston Globe recently identified the tipster who collected the $2 million reward for turning in Bulger to the FBI.

Anna Bjornsdottir, who was Miss Iceland in 1974, contacted the FBI in June after seeing a CNN report about the manhunt for Bulger and his girlfriend, Catherine Greig, according to a recent news story in the Globe.

Bulger had eluded federal authorities for years and there were reports of sightings in a number of countries, including Ireland.
