Kevin Smith, popular Long Island-based entertainer dies

The singer, whose career spanned two decades, performed with top artists such as Tommy Makem, Black 47, Paddy Reilly, Cherish the Ladies, and the Dublin City Ramblers. Most recently, he toured the United States as part of the Derek Warfield Show, in addition to performing at his regular weekly engagements in Long Island and New York City.
There will be a wake on Wednesday, August 12 (today), at the Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Home, 125 West Old Country Road, Hicksville, New York, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, August 13, at 9:45 a.m., at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, in Hicksville, New York.
